Japanese Hibachi Coffee Table
The Hibachi Table was a staple in every Japanese home and was the centerpiece to the kitchen. Essentially a “fire pit table” it was primarily used for heating water for tea. It also acted as a sort of coffee table in that it was a gathering place for family conversations, especially at nights and in the winter. Inspired by the classic Hibachi table, this coffee table is an elegant combination of beauty and function. The designs of coffee tables were inspired by classic pieces used in the kitchens and living spaces of traditional Korean and Japanese homes. A glass top sits above a copper-lined pit — perfect for showcasing small collector’s items without breaking the look and practicality of a full tabletop.
